LANDS AND SEAS

Simple materials—brown paper, ink, thread, pencil, paste, and old elementary school textbooks—question what packages historical untruths. Far from innocent, racist childhood texts and images mask the genocidal violence and bloodshed inherent in nation-building. This piece was exhibted at the Fox Gallery in Philadelphia as part of a juried show entitled Origins.
